The votes are officially in for the 30th annual Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Awards and now, we wait.
But before the results are announced, we wanted to take a minute to say a very big thank you.
To everyone who voted for AXIS, shared our posts, sent the voting link to a friend, told your clients, family or group chat, or simply continued to support us — we appreciate you more than you know.
30 Years of Celebrating the Best of Vancouver
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Awards.
What started back in 1996 as Vancouverites filling out paper ballots has grown into an annual celebration of the businesses, places and people locals love most.
This year, thousands of nominations were submitted across 77 categories, with finalists moving on to the public voting round.
Being part of that conversation means a lot to us.
Vancouver Is Home
AXIS has been part of Vancouver’s hair community since 1989.
Hair trends have changed. Vancouver has changed. And we’ve definitely seen a few hairstyles make their way out and right back in again.
But the heart of AXIS has always stayed the same:

Voting for the 2026 Best of Vancouver Awards officially closed on August 23, and we’ll be watching along with everyone else to see the results.
But regardless of what happens next, knowing that our clients and community took the time to show up and vote for AXIS already feels pretty special.
